How To Avoid Being That Cliché Chic At The Festival This Summer

The Festival season has begun and with it brings the heinous fashion clichés.

There are so many 'Festival Style' sources out there, not to mention all the edits found on most online shopping websites, so if you're stuck for ideas then I'd recommend having a a look on the likes of ASOS, Misguided and boohoo at their selection of festival pieces.  I personally love to look on Pinterest for ideas and have created my own Festival style boards on my Pinterest so do have a look.

So in an attempt to steer clear of something that has been duplicated and recycled time and time again, here is a quick list of the things NOT to wear to your festival this year.

Not trying to be negative but simply to help eliminate some of the items that may be on your shopping list this summer.

1. Denim Hotpants That Are Too Small -

We've all done it, I for one am most certainly guilty, so ditch those short shorts in favour of a pair that actually fit. Word of caution for anyone who is thinking of buying some Levi shorts,  I would always recommend trying them on for size before purchasing as I find their sizing and fit differs in each pair.

2. A Flower Garland -

Please no just no. This was ok circa 2011 but no longer, try something alternative like wrapping a scarf in your hair instead.

3. Bindis -

I have to admit this is probably my favourite on this list but they're out. This year I'm excited about trying out this new metallic tattoo craze, who's with me!

4. Wellies -

If it's not raining why on earth would you wear wellies!?! Don't do it, just bring a good pair of shoes that can be washed in case of dust and or mud.

5. Bikinis -
It amazes me that some girls feel it necessary to walk around half naked just because it's a festival - this is not and has never been the case, please refrain until you are by the beach or the pool.

6. Neon Paint -

I think the less said about this the better.

And finally festivals are a great opportunity to be quirky and expressive with your fashion so throw caution to the wind and have the confidence to wear some of the riskier pieces in your wardrobe, safety assured with the fact that you will not be the most unusually dressed. I promise.
